What is MSA?
The Muslim Students Association (MSA) is a registered student organization at the University of Tilburg. It is a social group for the Muslim students on campus; consisting of people of different origins, nationalities, and cultures serving the needs of students by the virtues of brotherhood and sisterhood; a means by which Muslim students maintain and increase their faith in a college environment as well as an expression of their creativity and ideas; a tool by which non-Muslims on campus learn about Islam and its beauty; a voice for the Ummah on this campus and of all Muslims worldwide. Above all, the MSA is the stepping stone by which students learn the techniques, develop the motivation, and acquire the passion to commit their way of life for the One who made us all, Allah.
The MSA aims to foster Muslim life on campus and strengthen the bonds between our allies, associates, and members within the TIU community. We are united in the goal of promoting MSA’s presence on campus for both current and future.
What do we do?
The MSA’s main focus is to make the Muslim students feel at home at the University and provide opportunities for students who want to gain more knowledge about faith, life and even about them selves. Come to our events and make new friends, understand more about the Islamic faith and discover more things about yourself in the process. While our general body consists mainly of Muslims, we are most definitely open to non-Muslims who are interested as well!
The MSA aims to organize a variety of events that will seek to promote and address issues that are relevant to our community. We seek to educate our community about the various aspects of Islam, hoping to increase awareness about contemporary issues that are relevant to society today.
Who is it for?
The MSA wants to reach every student, international-student, culture, religion, Muslim, non-Muslim. In other words, just everyone. The MSA provides lectures, events, debates etc. in English, so it is understandable for everyone. Feel free to join us!
